What The Remote Specs Mean
2-way remotes
The remote confirms the car started, then shows it's running with a timer on LCD remotes or lights on LED ones.
LCD vs LED
LED remotes talk to you with lights and beeps. LCD remotes have a screen with animations, vibration and color.
Range
From 1,500 feet to 3 miles, or no limit with your phone. Buildings and interference change it, which is why we suggest a 2-way remote.
Security alerts
A 2-way LCD remote shows if an alarm zone was triggered: a shock sensor, an intrusion zone or a door.
Waterproof vs water resistant
Remotes rated IPX-7 can handle 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Water resistant remotes handle less.
Alarms

Remote Start Questions
Will a remote start void my vehicle warranty?
No. Since 1975 the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act has protected you here. A maker can't make your warranty depend on using only their own products or repairs.
Will installing a remote start damage my car?
No. Our systems are tested and trusted, and we use vehicle-specific harnesses so factory wires aren't cut.
Can I just use my factory key fob?
On some cars, yes, but a factory remote only reaches about 200 feet. Our 2-way remotes reach up to 3,000 feet, or anywhere with DroneMobile.
Does it work on a manual transmission?
It can be done. As MECP certified installers we have ways to do it safely. It costs more, so call us for details.
Can you remove it when I sell the car?
Yes. We uninstall any of our remote starts for free. Moving it to a new car needs a compatible vehicle and a full install fee, so call us first.
Can I remote start my car in the garage?
No. Never remote start a car in a garage or any closed space, even with the door open. Carbon monoxide can't be seen or smelled, and it can kill. Pull the car outside first.
